Kalen Goodluck

Kalen Goodluck (Three Affiliated Tribes (MHA Nation), Diné, Tsimshian) is a photographer and investigative journalist from and currently based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He covers Indigenous Affairs, public health, law enforcement, and extremism. Most recently, he was a contributing editor for High Country News, covering the pandemic in Indian Country on the Indigenous Affairs desk. His reporting has been in The New York Times, High Country News, Pulitzer Center, National Geographic - Travel, Mother Jones, WIRED, NBC News, KCET, Off Assignment, Bklyner, and Indian Country Today Media Network. He's a proud member of photography collectives IndigenousPhotograph (formerly NativesPhotograph) and Diversify Photo collective.

In 2018, he received an M.A. in Journalism from the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism (now Craig Newmark School of Journalism) and a B.A. in Human Rights at Bard College in 2016. Goodluck comes from the Diné (Navajo), Mandan, Hidatsa, and Tsimshian tribes and is a tribal member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota.
